I own a staffing firm in Lafayette, just got 4 new jobs last week to fill some spots with a couple of service companies. Mix of Permian/Bakken/offshore work. One is with a locally based fluids company if anyone is interested.

I’m a single baw. Any info on where to look for work? Wouldn’t mind a change. I’m blue collar already.

Been in it 20 yrs, never missed 1 paycheck. Over last 10 years have grossed at least $150K each year and up to $210K. Work in an office offshore, no manual labor. No college degree, no student loan debt. Can take off 6 weeks at a time paid vacation. 401K match at 6%.
Jokes on yall baws who have $100K in student loans and make $50K a year and doing nothing productive. Scared of going work away from comfort of your town. Yeah I miss time from family for holidays every other year but all the things they have and the spoiled life they live are worth it. Hard to beat the oilfield if you are smart (work in upstream / production)and do it right.

I bet whatever I-49 turns into at Lafayette is wrapped up with employment billboards all the way to the coast. In the past, you could get a pretty accurate read on how good the pay might be by the number of those things down there. I've seen a couple of them in West Monroe, and I've never seen them up here before.
I'd go for it and get what I could, unless I was already living like a king. Just have to remember a baw can only drive one truck, or boat, at a time. Don't spend it all in a couple of places, and save a little.

My dad missed half of my life.
I'd gladly let him take a paycut to spend more time with him

I have a few job offers right now. Trying to see which is best, help a baw out
1: 110 day contract SE Asia. 1300/offshore 1000 standby. 5 well contract. Typical overseas BS. Will be unemployed when it finished
2: stay at current job in gulf. ~175k/yr 28/28 rotation. Close to home. Fairly blue collar, steady work
Cheers

28/28 is tough to find these days IMO. I'd ride that pony till it ended.

They would have to spend millions fixing all the Ida damage. The real money is, as is most of the time, pulling it out of the ground. They seem pretty committed to leaving it as a terminal only.

Why are most oilfield people trump tards? Y’all make a killing everytime a democrat is in office

Try not to conflate trump tards and freedom. We all love freedom, it just so happens that trump stands for that at this point in history.

Ok, tell me one thing Biden or Obama has/had done that made lives better. Btw, the price of oil going up is a good thing for some areas of the country, but not for all areas. Do you know why the prices go up during Democrat presidencies?

You’re right, I mean look at how he got that prosecutor, who was investigating a company his son was working for, fired in another country by withholding our nations tax dollars and then bragging about it.
