Oh I'm not, I don't want her dad to pay 15k for a wedding but if it's what she wants then so be it. I just think we could spend the money elsewhere instead of just 1 day.

They really are a quirky bunch.
I wonder how that one is doing with his tortilla chip addiction.

I completely agree (and did that). My dad had 3 girls and one of us absolutely had to have the wedding. I did super small and kept almost all of the money. The sister that went to the courthouse and is by far the most frugal is the only one that has regrets. The sister that spent the money on the wedding does not regret it. My son recently got married and his fiancee wanted to elope when her parents were being difficult. My son refused and told me it was because he wasnt being the reason or accomplice to her not having all the memories later. I agreed with him.

Nope, that's her.
I'm the one who hover hands it to see if the pan is getting hot. I'm far more rational

I wish society would recognize this for the serious situation this is.

He should whisper to her dad during the reception that he hopes the marriage lasts long enough to get the cost down to about 10 bucks a day.

I'd absolutely elope if money was a factor. I'd rather elope somewhere badass than have a budget wedding, but that's just a personal thing.
But if money isn't a factor whatsoever, we partying
