Maybe she needs to hop on a plane and come see you if she needs the in person support, you know?

That’s actually not a bad idea. I may find a moving company and just fly her in for Christmas.

how old is she teech?

Does Minnesota have good public transportation? I've never been so I have no idea.

eta- just saw where you said she's 22.

She really needs to either learn to drive or get her license if she already knows how. I cannot even imagine not having the ability to just get up and go if I needed to.

Thank y’all for letting me bounce off my ideas before I talk to DW.

I’m gonna call some moving companies to see if I can get an estimate.

I think she needs the in person support more than anything.

Then fly her down, feed her big bowls of gumbo, and give her a tour of the room she could stay in instead of living where the roads are un-drivable.

I guarantee you they have cars. It's on her to get a DL or do you have to go to Minnesota to help her get that.

so younger people in 3 cities maybe 5 tops in the US? I spent a couple weeks in Minneapolis for work and their public transit is probably better than any city I can think of in the south, it's still not something you'd ever want to be completely reliant on. And outside of the twin cities metro It'd be a nonstarter

that's what I'm thinking too.

I hope it all works out.

And I will add this- the more you do FOR her, the more that will take away from what she can LEARN to do for herself.

I'm not saying don't help her- not at all. She probably needs financial help and guidance.

But maybe she needs to call movers, look at costs of flights, etc.. this isn't entirely on you to solve.

Does that make any sense without coming across as a heartless asshole08

I guess what I am trying to say is supporting her - does not mean solving all her problems for her.
