As my husband tells me, we CAN afford a maid but I don’t work so the least I could do is clean the house. I kind of agree with him. We mostly don’t live like we can afford a plane and our son has no idea that’s an option for us.

A housekeeper once a week to clean bathrooms, floors, etc beyond daily maintenance is pretty affordable actually.

It’s not about the money. It’s the principle for him and I get it. I live a pretty privileged life and the least I can do is clean the house. At least the downstairs. There’s no reason to clean upstairs unless someone is coming to visit.
