Hanging with family most of the weekend. Couple buddies coming over this evening for the game(s)
Taking it easy on the wallet and liver for the most part. Don't think I'm hanging out with a single female this weekend and it'll be nice.

So I just had to go through the process at a realtor's office renting a place, and holy shite I've never been put through the ringer and then dig so deep. Not only did they check and recheck references, they even questioned everything about my background, rental history, and credit report. Almost felt as if they were giving me a $200k mortgage.

I always figured they just said they were doing all that digging and get you to sign off on it and cash your $25 application fee. But no they had print ups of everything but my medical history on me the last 10 years it seemed.

I just went through that with mine in Slidell. The want 3 pay stubs. I don't save those, I told them to call my office, it's a family business, my job is secure. Also have mandatory 100k in renters insurance. Both of those were ok, I was really thrown for a loop though when they charged me $50 to swab my dogs mouth. Now, if someone leaves dog shite on the property, they send it to a lab where they match it to whoever left it out there and fine you.
Fortunately I'll only be at this place for a year until I find a house.

That's awesome! We have a dog poop problem here and I wanted to do that but was told no.
We also have a huge unauthorized pet problem as well, so it probably wouldn't do us any good.

Yeah I felt it a little much. I'm guessing the realtor's office must be charging a pretty penny to the owners of the dwelling to go through all that trouble vetting.
I may look into getting me another dog. Damn I miss my old fella and it's been a couple years since he passed. Probably wait until I get me another steady slam-piece before I pull the trigger on a puppy so I can have someone to help out

It's the other way around my friend. Toss a lab pup on the front seat of the jeep in weather like this and you won't be able to keep the slam pieces away.

That was my concern, the people not cleaning after their dogs are the same ones that didn't pay the pet deposit or go through the DNA test.
This apartment has a small dog park for its residents so I'm excited to have somewhere close to take her. It's going to be a major adjust for both of us going from a 5br house on 8acres to a 2br apartment.
