Good Morning y'all.
Today is a rockin' day. A satisfying day. Friday!
Since I'm retired, heck. everyday is Friday!

Coasting into the holidays with an ever diminishing supply of fricks to give. You would think people taking PTO this time of year before their balance resets and taking advantage of the holidays wouldn't need explaining, but somehow it still tends to shock people every year.

I can carry 40 hours of PTO into the new year, anything in excess of that I just lose, so I'm taking most of the week after Christmas off

GM TN

quote:Same. I'm using up some of it but will lose a little bit. Everyone wants to be off this time of year seemingly and I make sure the ones who work for me get the time if they request it. I have mini AS and that part of my Christmas this weekend before he goes with his mom and her family out of town for the holiday, so most of them need the time off more than I do next week. I did have cornflake cookies and muddy buddies sitting on my desk this morning, so...I mean that's a win.

My direct supervisor is like this as well. She encourages us all year round to take time off to make sure we have a good work/life balance. She's the best boss I've ever worked for.
And I self schedule so it makes taking time off fairly easy- but the days/weeks before and after time off are brutal bc I still have to see my patients. I just shift them back or forward a few days as their RX orders allow.
I could ask my counter parts to help see my patients, but I genuinely love them and hate to miss seeing them for their treatments.
I hope y'all have a very merry Christmas
