GM and Chrysler should have gone bankrupt and not get helped by the US Gov't.

Not sure. The sticker on my truck was a hair over 40. The sticker on my similar 2004 chevy was 32. I'll take that, the one I have now is twice the truck the old Chevy was, both interior features and capability.

members of these groups pay dues, fund PACs, and of course they all bitch about it and CE, etc., but any time they get their tit in a ringer guess who they go running to?

ETA: not arguing anything, btw, just a discussion, a time wasting discussion

Yep, that's the prerequisite for being defined as a labor union.

AMA isn't representing it's members in labor disputes with employers. The AMA doesn't run in and defend a doc that fired for cause.

The AMA, ADA, and ABA are professional organization, not labor unions. I'll have to ask some of the many docs that I work with, if they belong to a union. Can't wait to hear their response.

every white collar person wants to disassociate themselves from the term "union," that's why the call themselves members of an "association," it's all the same, just different craft and class

Seriously? That's your answer?

Insurance regulator corruption stories are everywhere! Didn't Joe Pesci star in a movie about that?

Labor unions are synonymous with corruption and their affiliation with organized crime.

Like I said earlier....as a person in the workforce, I don't want to be working with to underperforming coworkers. I think they should get fired if they suck. With what I do, there are plenty of chances for people to be unsafe throughout every day as well. I don't want to work with those people either. They don't need to be demoted. They don't need to be moved to another department. They don't need to undergo countless hours of re-training and have three or four chances for every frick up. They need to be cut loose.

I don't even like all of the HR loopholes companies have to jump through to fire people.

Sure, I wish I made more....who doesn't? I place that burden solely on myself though. No company should be forced to pay someone a certain amount of wages because they do a job. They should pay them what they want, and let the employee make that decision

That's all they are, a bunch of violent, crooked thugs who encourage people to suck at their jobs while demanding more pay and benefits, thus creating a bloated, unsustainable entity that produces nothing.
