What is keeping the detroit companies afloat are truck and SUV sales, which have huge margins, and people seem willing to pay inflated prices for them, and then take discounts to make it seem like a better deal. I call it the Kohls effect.

Toyota doesn't do that. They have a defined margin per vehicle and discount only slightly on trucks and SUV's because they don't over inflate the value just so they can discount it.

I guess the Impala and LaCross are basically the same but the Buick is really dolled up..
