The court system disagrees with Mr tigerdroppings poster

quote:

Carter was found guilty in 2017 of involuntary manslaughter in the death three years earlier of Roy, who was 18 when he killed himself in his car. After his death, investigators discovered Roy had texted Carter as he contemplated and attempted suicide, and that she'd encouraged him to do it when he had doubts.

No because your "oversimplification" is a complete misstating of what she did.

So if I said she “encouraged” him to kill himself instead of “telling” him to kill himself, that would be more accurate, no?

So that one word difference is a “complete misstating” in your mind?

context is important, no?

Uh yeah? Words have meanings.

Saying "go kill yourself" is much different than what she did.

She manipulated an emotionally unstable person with a history of suicide attempts, on heavy drugs, currently suffering from deep depression into killing himself so that she could get sympathy from people

Yes. Do you? Because saying "she told a guy to kill himself" is completely misstating what she did.

Are you slow?

Which is deplorable and disgusting

But the very fact that he’s on drugs and has attempted suicide before should cast doubt on how final her word was in this, no?

I mean was he brainwashed by her? Did she have complete non-stop control over him?

I wouldn’t lose sleep if she never saw the light of day again, don’t get me wrong. I’m just not sure I can get behind sending someone to jail over manipulation.

I’m not going to argue semantics with you over the definitions of words like complete, so find another pigeon this morning, okay?

This is pathetic dude. You completely misstated the facts yet can't admit you're wrong so you just act like I'm arguing just to argue.

Words have meanings. Sorry you have issues with that.

and even in that state, he was able to get out and say he couldn't do it. At which point she told him, today is the day go back. You don't see any legal problem with that?

Legal issues aside—You can’t watch that HBO documentary and not realize that she is completely and utterly morally bankrupt. She is a world class drama queen and her drama just happened to be suicide drama. The suicide of this boy was just excitement and attention to her. I’m sure there are tens of thousands just like her out there.

Gotta agree here. She is a soulless piece of garbage that should not be allowed to procreate.

So why was she charged and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter?

I don't understand how you keep saying it's not a crime but the thread is literally about the girl being released early after being charged for said crime.

By law, it is undoubtedly a crime. If your argument is against the law itself, then I could maybe understand your position, however morally wrong it might be.
morally or not, she has a first amendment right to express whatever the effing she wants to express. It's clear why you people don't defend our constitutional rights. You're just too dumb to understand them.
