Yeah no chance for the RnR for me. I was there a few months back at CSH. I'm with 3rd ID, we head home this summer.
Yeah, the CaSH was one of my scariest experiences I ever had, I spent 2 nights there because of Kidney Stones and couldn't sleep even with the drugs. I know there were some ghosts in that mother fricker. But Ironically the place I am telling you about(the RnR facility) 3rd ID is in charge of it for this tour, they share it with 4th ID, so maybe you will luck up and get some leave before you head back stateside.
Best of luck to you and stay safe out there!

I still am weirded out by this. I showed it to all my friends, one said it was lame and I actually felt offended I sort of yelled at her.
I emailed it to some friends. One emailed back that it ws freaky, no one else replied.

Long story short: A friend of mine in HS used to live in a house across the lake from the clubhouse at Abita Springs Golf club, (it was called something different then, Hillcrest?). The house was formerly a whore house and an old folks home. Most of the time, things happened that were coincidental or inconsequential. I was actually over there a handful of times before I noticed anything. One night in particular the shite hit the fan and things happened without any explanation. No apparitions, but sounds or actions without form. It's been 18 years now and thinking about it still freaks me out.

That's the "Tomb of the unknown soldier" and another sick fact about that is that the base of it is decorated with the helmets and heads of dead Iranians that were killed during the Iraq/Iran war.

Did it give you the same feeling as that time we heard "Suge shot me" at the beginning of Makaveli?

Saddam did lots of f'd up stuff to lots of people. I could see that it could be one of the most haunted places on earth. In AF there is a hanger where the spetznatz(sp) made their last stand and it is spooky as hell.

What's the deal with that?

Thanks USMC. When I was a kid we used to go to Hillcrest all the time and ride horses. The Christian family used to keep the barn, then they moved to Arkansas.

its where a bunch of soviet special forces died defending bagram air base and it always had things falling off of shelves and strange noises. it just gave me the willies even before I heard the story.

Howcome hauntings only seem to happen with violent deaths or something violent of some sort? Like, the only people who are ever reported as "ghosts" haunting a place are old indians, civil war soldiers, other soldiers, people killed or murdered, etc. Howcome you never hear of people haunting a place after he died of pnumonia at 90 years old?

Well, any "ghost expert" I've seen talks about "energy." That a quiet death just doesn't lend itself to creating a haunting event. They also normally say there are two types of hauntings, like active and residual. Active hauntings are when the ghost is conscious of its decisions, knows you are there, and may choose to interact with you. Residual hauntings are the opposite. The theory goes that an event can be "stored" because of its "energy" and replay like a tape player over and over. The ghosts don't know you are there, nor are they technically ghosts from what I can gather. It is much like watching a movie, ya people recorded it once, but from then on its just a bunch of pixels on a TV screen.
