There is no way a gator that size has gone unnoticed until this morning!!
People have seen that thing... and probably had pets go missing.

Is it because we have numerous people trapping them keeping a lot of the larger Alligators down? Family used to have a second house down in Des Allemands and they were out there, but as soon as someone saw a large one, they were calling their cousin or one of the licensed agents.
It also seems that a lot of the hunters have to go pretty far out from civilization to get the really big ones.
