That international plan is awesome. I need this just for when I travel to China. Not going to give up my iPhone though.

It would be cool if you could switch services without having to buy a phone. I already have the Note 5 and I love it and Samsung Pay. If I do leave ATT I could go to Cricket and the transition would be seamless
Motorola X Pure and the two new Nexus devices are fully compatible with all 4 major US carriers which means they works with all of the resellers too. Of course sometimes some of the providers don't like activating a unlocked phone on their network aka Verizon.

It's great. You arrive in country and the phone pops up with "Welcome to ______, your rates are the same here as they are at home."

I have $422 left to pay on my s6 edge but I enjoy having the unlimited data and then being throttled. I'd hate being charged an additional $10 a gig.

agreed, paying for overpriced, out-of-date technology is always appealing.

Update, phone came in. Didn't have to call anyone. Had the transfer of my number already ready on the Google Fi website. Slipped the included sim in and clicked yes to a few messages on the phone and the port took about 3 minutes.
I've had the phone activated since Tuesday and have had no problems with service anywhere. Going from a Samsung S5 to this is awesome. The fingerprint scanner on the back is so easy to use. Visual Voicemail is nice touch as well.

Got mine on Wednesday and I love the phone. It's a great device. I'm not sure I'll stay with Fi though. I'm not used to having to worry about data usage. But I'll happily take my Nexus 5x back to my T-Mobile $30 prepaid plan with 5gb of data.

It's really not hard to figure out

I am told att that I was switching to straight talk bc I was tired of them jacking up the rates....after a little negotiating they gave me $40 per phone, unlimited everything with no contract bc it's prepaid.

I just got the Nexus 6p 64gb for $479. It's a beast. Switched from Note 5.

Just get it unlocked then

My nexus 5 (og) finally died so I just got the 5x with the fi discount. Phone is great. Like an updated version of my old one. Fingerprint reader is nifty. I tested out fi and it seems like a good deal. I'm going to cancel / suspend it as i currently don't need it. I will definitely reactivate and use it next time I go abroad.

My 5 power button got stuck down apparently yesterday and would just reboot over and over at the Google logo. Luckily that had happened to a million other people so I was able to flick it for thirty minutes until it finally worked.

Yeah i had that issue too. My only problem with the phone. Trying to fix that eventually led to its demise. I used an oscillating toothbrush with the head taken off when mine would do that. Worked pretty well.
