Stolen from tech board but such a good deal had to spread the word.

Google project Fi

Basically switch to their plan (No Contract) and get the 16 gig phone for $199 or the 32 gig for $249.

I opted for the 32.
I'm with Straight Talk at the moment and there is no penalty to at least try the service and get the phone for less than half the retail cost.

Update, phone came in. Didn't have to call anyone. Had the transfer of my number already ready on the Google Fi website. Slipped the included sim in and clicked yes to a few messages on the phone and the port took about 3 minutes.
I've had the phone activated since Tuesday and have had no problems with service anywhere. Going from a Samsung S5 to this is awesome. The fingerprint scanner on the back is so easy to use. Visual Voicemail is nice touch as well.

Google's phone service. Data is paid for in $10/GB increments but they refund anything not used. so if you pay for 2GB and only use 1.3 GB then they'll refund you the .7 GB on your bill.

I need a new phone pretty badly. I am currently in a contract with AT&T (and want to stay with them). Let's say I do want to get this phone for $250. What do I do?

and if it isn't. So what. No big deal since no contract. Go back to your old plan with a brand new unlocked Google Nexus phone

Buy the phone through Project Fi and pay the activation fee. There seems to be no commitment whatsoever so you when the phone comes in, just activate it on Fi, put your AT&T SIM in, and cancel Fi

I have the ZenFone 2, do you think I could just get the Fi sim card and it would work? I know T-Mobile is gsm, but what is Sprint running on these days?

I stayed aggravated with AT&T but I've been super happy with straight talk. I don't see how anyone could ask for better

Is the 5x the bigger phone? I think the 5p is the smaller one?

2nd question, if i already have Fi, i assume i can't get it at that rate, only for new folks signing up?

with Straight Talk you get 5 gigs of AT&T 4g data then they throttle you to 2g speeds.

For $45 a month plus tax and fees which brings it to like $51.75 or something like that.

just checked my data usage. I've been averaging 1.3 gigs per month. I'll buy the 2 gigs of data which is going to put me at $40 a month plus tax and fees and it looks like i will be getting some of that refunded at the end of each month for the data i won't be using.

Call Google. They will give you the rate. At least that's what I've read people doing on other forums.
