wow everyone is missing the forest for the trees with this article. leave it to the OT to bash the single mother illegally arrested by her butt hurt ex husband

Aside from trolling, I'm not sure anyone is "bashing" her.

I inferred it's simply "unwise" to provoke people that have power over you, whether it be legitimate or not, and was blasted with a shite ton of downvotes.

Legally, yes, she may be a huge victim...I say "may" simply because right now, the law (people that are gateways to the law) is not on her side.
But just because it's supposedly legal to blast people on FB for being dirtbags, doesn't mean you should if they hold a significant power advantage over you.

That's like your boss doing something crappy, and you go to SM to put it out there...that's unwise, and likely violates company policy. And may generate a suit, etc.

Also like livefeeding to FB an armed robbery going on...the robbery is wrong, but it has the potential to draw the ire of the guy that's already in the wrong.

Wisdom and law are two totally different things.

a cop arresting you and being fired from a job after a fb post aren't even remotely in the same stratosphere

she was talking about her ex husband, not some disconnected third person. his only "power" over her is his illegal use of his authority is a l.e.o. to have her arrested on a bogus charge. i don't disagree that people shouldn't air their problems on fb, but they should be free to do so without fear of arrest if they aren't violating any law (and she wasn't).

Exactly.

I still dont understand if we're missing something. All she posted was a fact that he seemed to confirm, he was too busy. I don't see where the defamation was at all, she just posted something that was so.

I love the irony of some people ITT who undoubtedly claim to be superpatriots having little to no issue with someone being arrested for a benign Facebook post.

Long story short, both parents are trashy (keep your domestic drama off social media), but the officer unquestionably and significantly abused his authority as a LEO. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a civics lesson.
