It's reasonable concern for someone who doesn't know much about marijuana, frankly. That's not exactly your fault. The general public's ignorance of marijuana lies at the feet of the DEA

I’m a pharmacist. I actually I know more about drugs than almost everyone who is not a pharmacist, fricktard.

I’m for total legalization with laws addressing DUI, use by minors, etc. I said that a few times so far. The public’s view on marijuana is being heard and laws are changing in response fairly quickly.

The lay public cannot be entrusted to essentially prescribe marijuana to their children for serious conditions, especially smoking and off the street. Here’s the best part- they don’t have to.

Medical marijuana for epilepsy is available in Georgia for over a year. They have not organized in state cultivation but there have been zero arrest for shipping the CBD oil to Georgia. There is no need for this kid to smoke his father’s weed as medicine.

If the Gp didn’t protest per the article, why didnt the parents persist in obtaining referrals and more reliable marijuana. There is likely more to this story, these parents are not good martyrs for the marijuana movement.

Don't you even jury nullification, bro?

Why do you think prohibition ended up getting repealed?

My best friend has been having bad seizures since she was 13. Her parents have money and have tried everything and have gone all over the country to different specialist on epilepsy and seizures and even the experimental drugs had little effect.

So they tried weed. It worked so well that their parents sold everything they owned in Louisiana and picked up and moved to Washington where it's legal.

Once you have first-hand experience of a situation like this it's very interesting to watch people push back against it. Whether it's so called reports, doctors, the media, the government or individuals you quickly realize a few things.

One, how propagandized the information we receive is. Two, how pervasive that propaganda is. Three, how gullible most people are.

Those are some neat papers that don’t say much of anything about “anticholoninergic” properties of cannabis. Perhaps you meant it was an acetylcholine agonist. There are several papers showing the disruption of acetylcholinesterase by THC.

okay. I assumed you didn’t know much about it based on the content of your posts. Specifically when you said “the marijuana is delivered most harmful dosage form“. I see now that you just missed a word or two and “form” was the important word and not “dosage”. My bad. I work with a few research pharmacists - very smart people .

Big government is big government

It’s what our forefathers envisioned when they formed this country.

Well, not really, but GO MURCA... What do we care what we were founded upon anymore? Hell, most don’t know nor care.

Nah. Nature has deadly chemicals such as that found in mushrooms, belladonna and foxglove. "Natural" is a marketing term for rubes that suggests nothing can go wrong.

I think you're missing the point.

Yes there are all kinds of things in nature that can absolutely kill you dead. The difference between humans ingesting the Flora and Fauna found in nature and that created within the last hundred years in a lab, is that we've evolved for many many many generations in and around the things we consume in nature. Our bodies, our biology are designed for it. Not everything that's created in a lab is unsafe but we haven't evolved to consume things in concentrated form or things isolated from their constituent parts.

For example, when you take straight vitamins you often piss most of them right into the toilet because your body doesn't recognize them in this form and doesn't know what to do with them. Your body does a much better job of vitamin absorption and utilization when it's packaged in a way that our body has recognized for thousands upon thousands of years. That is, in an apple or a stalk of broccoli or a leg of lamb.

That doesn't even take into account all the side effects that require at least a generation to study and recognize and most companies aren't structured or incentivized to mitigate long-term risks of the effects of their products nor is there much incentive to even study and learn about the long-term effects.

A 15 year old smoking every day, possibly multiple times a day, indefinitely, is less than ideal. I wonder if they tried safer choices like edibles or prescription dronabinal first?
Consider that it is 100% legal for medical marijuana in GA. Seizures is one of the conditions that warrants it, and one can up to 20 oz of the oil, with less than 5% THC. Now the question is, where the frick do you get this medicine that is legal in the state? The answer is, that you can't. No where in GA, can you legally get medical cannabis oil. One must travel out of state to buy the oil, legally, but then to transport it across state lines, would be a felony. So basically, GA having medical cannabis is just a farce.

Also I would imagine having seizures daily is way worse for your health than smoking some weed. Luckily dank now a days is more potent, so less is required. Lets also not act like the guy is smoking pounds of it every week either.

This has been a big problem with some medical MJ states. The states pass medical MJ laws with so much red tape and restrictions that they’re almost useless. Politicians can take a photo op and say “look, we’re reasonable people who don’t want kids to have seizures” but practically speaking very few patients can obtain relief.

And even then, the laws put restrictions on the percentage of THC allowed. Some patients respond better to different levels of THC and it’s a trial and error process, but these states refuse. It’s either low-THC oil or nothing.

I know a family who had to uproot from Texas and move to Colorado for the same reason. It took some experimenting with different oils, but the little girl is now seizure free. If they return to Texas, they’d be arrested. And texas’ new med MJ law still wouldn’t help her.

Did they stop the daddy's seizures (OP)?

Because he tested positive. Using son as his excuse.
