Find out why he's upset about it. He may have a valid reason. Also, it's his kid so you should probably not tell him to "get over hisself(sic)."

So my nephews 9th grade intro to geo teacher is showing old bear after there test for the contients they are studing. I say its a pretty good idea for the kids to get to see the actual places they have been studying after the test rather than just seeing pictures in the book. An bear can be fun to watch. Anyway my brother is pissed about it, what you think I should tell him? get over hisself an let the man do his job how he feels he should.

For watching Bear Grylls?
Your brother is a pussy.

The students watch it after a test. Sounds like the kids are watching 45 minutes of video every 3 or 4 weeks. This does not seem excessive to me.

As long as the entire class isn't just watching a tv show, I think it's a great way to get the kids engaged.
Kids don't work like many old school adults think they do. Most kids are not INTJ personalities and thus are unable to just get a concept from reading a text book or listening to a lecture.

What a bunch of whackjobs some of you are. There is no speelcheck fundtion within TD, that I am aware of, and I cannot imagine anyone is going to take the time to cut and paste into Word in order to perform a spellcheck prior to posting. I know that I write as fast on here as possible and often commit grammatical errors because of this. Most people are employed and only post here as a hobby.

I think it's a great idea... and I'm really really into geography.
I think works of fiction or exciting entertainment help capture the kids imagination and make them interested in learning more... pretty much any era of history/part of the world I've learned a lot about, it all started as some movie or even a video game that made me want to learn more.

As a teacher of 25yrs, I think this is good. It will peek their interest in the area. It's called enrichment. When I had geography classes, each Friday we would watch an episode of the Amazing Race, lots of geography there. Students really looked forward to it.
