Generac 22kw. This is the third time it has run for 10+ hours over the last year. No issues. Happy.

Most of the people around me have whole home units. The neighbor without one came over this morning and said his wife was tearing him a new a-hole for not having one. He is calling Monday to get one.

Cummings 25kw water cooled. I had it for 4-5 years and work great. I get it serviced usually in April/May.

My Kohler pro5.2 did great for the 6h I needed it today. We have a limb that has pulled our line all the way to the ground, but somehow the power came back on.

The only issue I had was that I could never get it to stay running with choke open.

Got a 6500w Briggs generator. It is running 2 window units, 2 TVs, 2 receivers, fridge, mini fridge, deep freezer and internet router and modem. The display says it’s at 22% of capacity. Very happy with it. Got us through Laura too.

Anyone have any experience with a fridge tripping the gfci outlet on generator? If so what’s a good fix?

HF predator 9k. It’s running 2 fridges, a freezer, WiFi, TV, lights etc. My main fridge and freezer are being temperamental. We had several “brown outs” last night. Hope that didn’t damage them.

Had the same problem with the fridge tripping gfci. Have a Firman 7500 kw. Never had this problem with other generators because I never had a gfci on the generator

Yea. Luckily I didn’t need generator this time. Just trying to be proactive for next time. I know it’s the fridge and not the generator.

Generac 16kw whole house on natural gas. Replaced my 13kw unit with this one when the 13kw crapped out after 10 years. I would buy another one tomorrow if this one gives out. Don’t use it much, put the peace of mind you have not worrying is worth every penny. In 2008 when Gustave hit we ran my 13 kw for 5 days. Figured it cost us about $25 a day with the price of natural gas at that time.

Ryobi 6500w. (Was one of those "you get what we have" situations a few years back a day before a hurricane at home depot.)

Perfect.

Constantly running two fridges, small window unit, TV, surveillance system and host of small gadgets.

Unplugged the fridges (not sure if necessary) and was able to run blower, miter saw and septic aerator all different points today.

Honda EU3000is inverter. Been having it going on 8 years. Runs great. Window unit, fridge and freezer, box fans and can’t hear it in the house. Highly recommend.

Honda 6500 and a 2800 inverter generator.

I’ve had the 6500 since Gustav and use it a couple times a year. I’ve never drained the fuel but always run the fuel out of the carb. It always starts on the second pull

25kw Cummins. Other than running once a week, we have never had to use it in two years.

Yep you are right, my buddy has one connected to a propane tank and during Laura he was out for 8 days, final cost 750$. With that being said they use less propane compared to NG versions. I built my house five years ago and can I tell you I was very close to pulling the trigger on a 20kw, I still have my pad made for it and my regulator also there and I will tell you this it will stay empty. I bet if he had a NG it would be a bill of close to a grand. I have a 5500 and I just turned it off, I ran two fridgs, two led light strips 3’, two box fans, one 110 window unit, tv, sat box, and charged three phones and a wifi box this morning while watching that crappy game, Lol
I burnt 7 gal gasoline from last night 11:30 til 4:52 this afternoon. NG or propane is expensive.

If you cut it off under load it won’t last. Always unplug everything and then cut it off. I also strongly suggest synthetic oil.
