Generation X people, was Live Aid the greatest day in music for our time?

I know the Boomers had Woodstock, and a lot of us were alive during Woodstock, but that wasn’t our concert.

Was there a bigger day in music during our time, that was bigger than Live Aid?

I remember being glued to the tv all day, watching the entire thing.

Since Queen at Live Aid is the thing people talk about I always thought Live Aid was an AIDS benefit.

I actually thought about this, but that wasn’t one concert, it was a tour.
I would say it’s the tour of our generation

Wasn’t that when the crowd rioted, the concert was charging $10 for a bottle of water, $20 for a burger? They nearly burned the place down?

Not really a big Queen fan, but they killed it at Live Aid. Remove their (Freddie Mercury) performance, and no one talks about Live Aid at all.

Not true. Only reason people talk about Queen at Live Aid is because of the movie.

Hell of a line up

No. It was a lot of bands, but it seems like the coverage jumped from Philadelphia to London and wherever else after every song or two.

It wasn't like a typical music festival, but it was worth watching on tv.

The US festival was supposed to be a pretty big deal, but ended up being known as a pretty big flop, for whatever reasons.

Can't speak for an entire generation, but July 20, 1983 is my all-time favorite; SRV at the El Mocambo
