A true activist - one who wants things to get better - looks at those issues and asks "why" before he or she immediately throws the race card. If I wanted to make my community better, the first thing I'd do is ask what my community can do to better itself. I'm not going to disparage "better" communities in an effort to drag them down to my level. I'm more concerned with how to pick my community up. If there is an injustice that is holding us down, we'll deal with it accordingly, but I'm going to make damn sure we have our own house in order before we start looking for external problems.
Pretty much. Gary isn't a true activist, he's found a niche to be BR's "black voice" solely to profit from it. He has no real interest in trying to fix any of the issues because he has no idea how to. All he needs to do is point at something, call it racist, and get clicks.

I think Meriweather even said hey let's meet up and compare notes on the story. Gary had an appointment at Golden Corral and could not attend though.

To be fair, those aren't easy reservations to get. And if you're a no-show for your reservation, The Corral will blacklist (not racist) you in a heartbeat.

What's funny is that he's on FB linking this thread calling people, OBSERVERS, cowards but when confronted by a man he is accusing for basically an Uncle Tom, he ran from it.
Also, probably doing all of this as a cheap ploy to increase site traffic so he can get paid.

He has no interest in the truth

Well Greg Meriwether is a real news person. Gary, not so much. Unless you consider "Wah wah wah, dey wronged me" as news. Then he's definitely a news celeb.

I've seen this guy before. EVERYTHING, and I fricking mean everything is racist. Oreo cookies, porcupines, flat screen tvs and kittens. All racist. This is the king of spin. He can make a story about dolphins stranded on the beach inherently racist. He's one of "those" wink wink

Gary is pretty much an awful person. One of the reasons he's so awful is his willingness to pit people against one another for his commercial gain. Make no mistake, the ONLY thing he cares about is web traffic. That's it. He writes about the most controversial things he can find so people visit his crappy blog to express their supposed "outrage," then the next day Gary posts something about how many views his website received as a result of him astroturfing. It's funny when a news outlet publishes a story that he has written about and complains that he wasn't mentioned in the story because the publisher doesn't want to "give black media credit." LOL. It shows that all he cares about is publicity, that's it. I can't imagine any reasonable business owner would want their brand advertised on his divisive blog. Why would a business owner want their name associated with him?? If a white person said the things he does he would be freaking out calling that person a racist.
The saddest thing about the guy is that he thinks everyone is out to get black people. He's gone so far as to create some conspiracy that BREC is killing it's animals to relocate the zoo. It's nuts. And to top it off, his crazy partner in crime Chauna Banks is trying to sabotage BREC winning a prestigious zoo award. It's nuts.
And the Trudy White thing -- it's as if he thinks Judge White shouldn't have to answer questions about allegations that she pushed lucrative work to her former campaign manager because she is black. Really? What is most appalling is that any African American that does not tow this black power line is not really black and a race traitor. He doesn't think Greg Merriweather is black because he asks black people questions. What? It's very sad. And the speed trap going to southern's graduation, acting as if the cops disproportionately try to catch speeders in NBR. Please. There are more speed traps, red light cameras, and DUI checkpoints in south Baton Rouge BY FAR.
What I find funniest is that Gary, who is absolutely consumed by the color of one's skin, calls people that make fun of his obsession as "racist." What is not funny are the people who comment on Gary's post that think he is somehow doing the city a service by needlessly creating racial tension in the city. It's sad how often the throw around the word "racist." Eventually people are going to stop paying attention. It's scary that people think Gary has anything but his own self interest in mind. Hopefully he reads these comments to understand that people are tired of his divisiveness. He is not helping. He is the problem.
