Garland Robinette to retire from WWL radio

Garland Robinette today announced his retirement from broadcasting.
"It's... time to put down the microphone and pick up the paint brushes," the legendary radio and TV personality said in an open letter to his audience. "Forty years in the public eye is a long time."
Robinette plans to focus his full attention now on what he calls his first passion, art.

I used to have him on at work 10 years ago as background noise. But I think he had some sort of throat issue and when he came back his voice was so rough it was unbearable.
