We have a 2 car garage in the house we rent. Husband parks his jeep in there and we have a bunch of outdoor gear neatly organized in there (kayaks, camping equipment, etc) and other stuff stored in storage bins. He also has a dedicated spot to put the hardtop to his jeep when he takes it off.

I just park my car in the driveway.

Neighbors across from us have their garage filled floor to ceiling full of stuff. It's like a maze of floor to ceiling shelves in there packed full of junk.

My wife parks in ours everyday. I park mine in it if it gets bad weather.

We park both cars in the garage. Didn't realize this was something I should pat myself on the back for doing. Thanks TD.

2-car garage, 2 cars parked inside.

Also think I'm one of the few on my street who do this.

Been debating on the new house about putting a wall between a 2-car bay and a 3rd bay for storage. There's not another area for outdoor storage so the wall would be a nice distinction.

All vehicles inside. Insurance requires one of them to be inside and locked when not driven.

Some HOAs require you to park in the garage. They can write you up if you're parked in driveway

I want to do that too. Not for storage, just to have a room I can put my weed in, and a little cocaine for recreational use as needed.

That is crazy. I can understand the no street parking overnight but to forbid someone to park in their own driveway?!

I mean...what if you have guests staying with you that weekend? Or you own more than 2-3 cars?

I can understand that for boats and rv's but that's a stretch for drivable vehicles.

Let me guess: You have Travelers Insurance?

I've heard of it being against some HOA rules to park on the curb, but never heard of HOA's not allowing you to park on your own driveway.

What do they do when houses have a 2 car garage but they have more than 2 cars...either weekend hot rods or from driving age kids having their own cars?

Actually, I did years ago. They couldn't understand my need for speed so they dropped me.

Stuff like that is why I will do my best to avoid living in a neighborhood with HOAs.

Thankfully where I live at is a nice enough city that many neighborhoods don't need these weird, strict HOAs.

Wife's car is parked in the garage. We keep other stuff in there but there is still plenty of room. I normally park my truck in my 30x50 shop with the boat. Boat & truck stay on one side. The other side is full of tools and other junk.

I'll second what the other guy said about having a shop. It's a nice place to store everything to keep the garage from being cluttered.

HOA Sues Homeowner For Parking Pickup Truck In His Driveway

The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that the homeowners association claims to own the driveways of all homes in the development. Both vehicles in the garage. That is what it's purpose is. I have some junk around the edges of the garage

Wow! Best. Response. Possible.

Seriously, though...unless you work somewhere where a parking deck is available to you, why bother? The bulk of the day's harsh weather is hitting your ride while you're there, not at home. That said, we only use ours for bad weather. Otherwise, it houses my kids bikes and other ride-ons and serves as a hangout area.
