A pair of classic sports cars that sat unused next to each other in a garage for 27 years were sold at auction on Friday for a combined $3,575,000.
The 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra and 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/2 Alloy Longnose were parked in 1991 when the only mechanic their owner trusted to work on them died in a motorcycle racing accident.

Where were these garages when I was in school?

I’ll instruct my chief butler to call all my other butlers and have them check my properties.

Why were they parked just because a mechanic died? What does that have to do with the owner?

in the early '80s, I was on renovation crew working on an elderly gentleman's home near Tulane University. In his basement, there was a BSA motorcycle in a corner with a 1/2 of dust on it, tires flat. I asked him about it and he said that his son bought the bike new in 1969, and shortly thereafter got his draft notice. His son parked the bike in that exact spot the last time he rode it before shipping out to Vietnam. He was KIA a few months later, and the bike has remained untouched since.
