Try to jump the switches out and see if they close. If they do then replace the sensors..
If it still doesn't might be the board inside that picks the signals up. They can be replaced typically or you can replace the entire unit if the age is up there.
One photoeye should be a sender and one is the receiver. You should be Albert to put a jumper on the receiver to manually make the switch and dummy it back to the opener.
You may have to open the receiver if you can to get to the contacts internally depending on how it is made and terminated at the opener

Randy's husband is out of town and not able to do all that. She's probably gonna have to call out a repair man.

DO NOT frick WITH A SPRING-LOADED GARAGE DOOR That is all.
Do they still make those? I don’t see where springs would be located in my garage door. Mine is belt driven.

It does something with ours for some reason. Every once in a while, someone hits the lock on accident, but that's a separate issue. The majority of the time it is the left side garage door getting stuck in this "error" mode. I read up a long time ago and I don't remember if it was holding the button for x amount of seconds or what, but basically holding it down enough to close the door is long enough for it to reset and it works again.
You must have one of those fancy ones. Mine is a run of the mill Chamberlain that the shitty contractor that built my house probably bought at Big Lots.
Oh, and to another poster: you cannot just "jump out" the safety sensors.

Recheck your connections. May be loose. Mine was malfunctioning for weeks before I finally figured that one out. At the unit/Head. It was connected enough to seem okay but not carry the current and would trip.
Did you check wiring to the unit too? That’s where my problem was. Where the sensors connect to the head.

Cleaned the sensors tightened the connections wiring is in tact

Does it start to close, then stop itself after a second?
Yes for about half a second, then the main garage light blinks three times which indicates a sensor issue. When I hold the button down it goes down which also indicates a sensor issue.

Count the number of flashes then use the damn google machine to tell you what x flashes mean on your model

all garage doors have springs to assist in opening...garage doors are heavy as hell and none use a motor that is strong enough to lift without a spring.

Makes sense that mine only has 3/4 HP. I didn’t grow up with a garage door so I don’t know shite about them.

Needs a new Fetzer Valve.

If you can open the motor up and expose the motherboard... look for discoloration anywhere... if you see any it needs to be replaced... happened to me after thunderstorm blew through..was flashing like it had sensor issues.... depending on age of motor you may want to go to Lowe’s or depot and get new one... not hard to change out your self... they run about $180.00 - $225... or if you want to change board call Door Tech on S Choctaw and see if they have one
