Get the 360 on the cheap and your 6 yr old will be in gamers heaven for next 3 yrs as there are TONS of games for that age.
Then get the XboxONE when the NEXT Xbox comes out. They don't need current gen systems until teen years and their friends at school are playing shite they can't play on their model.

Xbox One. It does infinity and releases more Rated: E titles. It also has a backwards compatibility, so you can play most Xbox 360 games on it.
