I googled it. The 88 is because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet.

Right wing nut jobs idea of vandalism is the Oklahoma City bombing and burning down of synagogues. They don’t care about media attention or optics, they care about starting shite.

Most actual hate crimers that do swastikas and other crap, usually do it in white, they can't draw a swastika right, it's usually backward, writing sucks, and is usually degenerate slang racist terms...

I am against "hate crime" statutes. The statutes create a privileged class of victims.
Moreover, the prosecutions are very selective about what is a hate crime.
