But what IF they were getting paid? I think a decent chunk would go into that environment.
They were getting paid before this as well and didn't have the increased risk.

Well you’re really going to hate Trump and the ramifications of what’s to come for the forcible future. So, get well soon?

I would take chances getting blown up before corona virus
Why?
We all risk flu yearly.
For young or healthy folks is no more risky than flu.
It's clear over a million Americans have it.
Flu kills roughly 3000 young Americans in a given year.
Corona virus won't kill anywhere near that amongst that population.

Id take your risk of getting blown up before getting the flu as well.

God damn man, all they are trying to do is raise a little money to buy a few meals for the medical personal so they can eat.
These people are working 12-16 hours shifts exposing themselves to people that may or may not have this virus.
$10 fricking dollars won’t kill you.
Imagine getting off a 16 hour shift at 4 am and there’s nothing is open to stop and grab something to eat and, since the grocery stores are scarce and closed and your house is bare.
A plate lunch or a fricking whatever is like caviar to them.
Have a fricking heart a-hole

How about being grow some balls and do your job?
I've worked in shitty situations. I've dealt with it.

They are doing their jobs and they are dealing with it. No one is saying they aren’t.
It’s just a few bucks to make sure they get a decent meal in between their shifts.

Privateer is the first guy to be looking for boudin balls from the valve vendors.
I don't get people who try to, in this case literally, take food out of someone else's mouth. Don't get mad someone is getting a little love.

Well, really, they are just trying to support local restaurants that are being crushed and medical personnel are just benefiting from that, which makes the complaining extra weird.
And if some doctor or nurse gets a little extra pep in their step from having some good food instead of brown bagging it or eating lumpy mashed potatoes from the cafeteria, then it's a win-win.
And yes, the medical staff are getting paid but so is Drew Brees and nobody takes issue when the team also provides him lunch at the training facility instead of telling him to frick off and go to McDonald's, if he's so hungry.

Downvote away, but I’m a doctor and even I don’t think people should be guilted in to doing this stuff.
Maybe people are just being kind and compassionate and not guilted at all. Are you from New Orleans? I’m glad you’re not my doctor. Your bedside manner probably sucks and you seem to lack compassion and empathy.

The issue is they really aren't.
Lots of "Karen's" who are RNs with community college degree are pushing crazy narratives on social media that they are "risking their lives". This feeds the same hysterical narrative that has caused the overreaction we've seen from local, state , and federal government.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why we are supposed to donate our time and money to healthcare workers, who are all collecting a paycheck from employers who are still making money?
Had this argument earlier today with a friend who works in the healthcare industry and is still getting paid. Friend couldn’t understand why I’m so stressed out and restless and feeling like I’m going crazy sitting at home. It infuriated me to be told that I’ve only been off a few days (haven’t worked a full day since Tuesday and only worked 3 hours on Thursday). I mean it’s only the end of the month with all the bills coming due and I don’t have any timetable of when I’ll work again. What is there to worry or stress about right?

If you want me to make you dinner too I got you.
Kind of like during a hurricane, do what you can for whoever needs it. Assume everyone else is worse off than you.

I literally drove across town this afternoon to LuLa just because they are making their own hand sanitizer and were giving away free bottles with a purchase of food. Well I didnt need any food and didn’t really want to make the 2 man kitchen have to work any more than they had to.
All I really wanted was some hand sanitizer because that’s the one thing I can’t find anywhere
So I ended up buying a bottle of their Vodka and a $50 gift card for 2 bottles of hand sanitizer.
It doesn’t matter if I needed the gift card or the Vodka, the $72 they got from me helped them more than it helped me.

You seem to be very young and immature. Hopefully one day when you grow up you will look back on this and realize how big of an arse you were being.

The difference is the saints aren’t asking the public to feed Drew Brees. No I get the hospitals aren’t asking for this, but they are asking for community members to donate money, time, masks etc.
The hospital I work for had $210 million in profit last year. And they want people in the community to sew masks for them. For free.

The hospital is asking for that?
