WWII (not world war eleven) plane. B-25 is my favorite, but it's probably been done a million or so times.
Never have built a B-25. Might have to get one

Post them! Hot damn that’s a lot of pieces

Avoid the old Revell kit. It is borderline garbage. I recommend the 1:72 scale Hasegawa kit….
It’s a mostly fun build (only a few tricky parts and fit issues) and comes in either PTO scheme (as shown in the cover art) or MTO. I built this kit just a few weeks ago and did mine in MTO scheme..

Yeah. Individual track shoes will seriously test your nerves. Tedious… very tedious. But the results are for more realistic looking tracks overall.
This SU-152 I built about 4 years ago (Trumpeter if I remember right) had individual track shoes. Not how that allowed for the tracks to sag naturally between the carrier rollers…
Now compare that to the Tamiya one-piece rubber track…

Not a fan of the rubber track look. Excellent job again, good sir!

Thanks. The rubber tracks are my only gripe when it comes to Tamiya. I think they’re moving more to segmented tracks with some of their newer kits. Here is an example of the Tamiya 1:35 A34 Comet kit…
Instead of the one piece rubber track or individual shoes that have to be cemented together one at a time, these tracks are in sections. And they even have posts on the carrier rollers to help ensure proper fit. And while they don’t have that much sag to them, it’s much better than the rubber band tracks.

Man that looks awesome. I hear Tamiya came out with a new 1/35 US armor kit - not sure which it is off the top of my head but I hear it’s their best yet.
Whats with the downvoters?

Yeah I saw the announcement on that a few weeks ago. Next time I’m in Hoover I’ll swing by The Model Box and see if they have it. I like to give them first chance on kits before I turn to Amazon.

It is supposed to be released sometime between june and july of 2026
Posted on 5/17/26 at 9:22 pm to choppadocta
I thought it’s been out

I thought the same thing as well. But I just looked on Amazon and they only show an Italeri M24 kit. Guess I’ll have to wait a little longer.

I posted my finished Matilda.

So far we are 2 to 2 in the poll. Looks like dealer’s choice.

My vote is for one of the WWII prop planes you have.
Those old motor sounds and the guys behind the stick just pushing the limits of aviation behind propellers.
Here’s my Avenger. One of the first Guillows balsa, paper and rubber band propellor planes that I ever built.
She is rough.
Giant canopy.
Your Avenger is light years beyond mine. Cheers.

Man I never could get those Guillows planes to look right, much less fly. Excellent work, good sir!
Edit: 3-2 for WWII planes. German or American?

I launched that Avenger in yard a few times. The balsa frame needed way better aerodynamic sanding before I put the paper on and painted it.
It flew less than one second flight with almost 100 prop turns on the rubber band. The pros have these cool rubber band turners with counters.
Anyway, tough choice between P47 and FW, for me.
Go FW with a wild camo scheme.
P47 are pretty drab.

Some are. I have the decals for Gabreski's bird as seen here.

Having read through this thread, the OT should take up a collection and buy Spaceman and Darth identical copies of a model neither has built and let them have a build off....
