But the only thing you are forgetting to mention or maybe you don't know b/c you're not Black is that today a lot of the middle class suburban Black kids from picture perfect homes idolize gangsta culture so even though on paper their lifestyle don't align but their spirit and minds do. So he gotta be careful with that too. Often these white boyz want "street cred" to impress a certain type of girl, piss off their parents, or gain more popularity so they seek out gangsta Black guy friends and that can be dangerous. If your son is around Black kids (or anybody honestly) who like the NBAYoungBoy, Kodak Black, Pooh Shiesty, on and so forth ... he needs to watch his back and keep his distance ... that music is super demonic and is brainwashing these kids to be even bigger foolish losers .... it got Black boys in a chokehold which is why they crash out in life at the crazy high rate they do
Yep, pretty much fits the newer population boom Burbs in Colin County....Especially Frisco/McKinney/Prosper/Allen.

I don’t think being rich is a protection. That’s obviously untrue.
I do think that you can’t find a better environment for an equal playing field than a community that has the majority of homeowners college educated, high income, fantastic school system for all kids, close supportive community, under 5 murders per year, on & on. If a black teen can have all of those advantages and still choose a violent path then what?

Bad stuff can and will happen anywhere. Even in areas more affluent than Frisco. It’s just the way the world is.
This should be a cautionary tale for young guys to avoid conflict cause you never know how the other person will respond.

I understand what you saying but something like this won't likely happen anytime soon. But I'm sure this will scare even more White kids from socializing with Black kids in any way. And no place is ever 100% safe. This ain't the 1950s "Leave It To Beaver" sitcom. It's 2025, we live in a very global world with a lot going on and a lot of mentally ill people and people with access to all kinds of stuff
Also in the 1950s, people with mental illness were quickly removed from society. My high school teacher said her mom was caught talking to herself 1 week and she never seen her again. She was raised by her grandparents. In 2025, those same people are able to run for governor, become teachers, drive Uber etc.

But the residents define elitism with their attitudes that suggest life is perfect there. It is not. It is not the ghetto, but it comes with its own set of problems that you don't find in the ghetto.
I grew up and live here. 20 years ago the biggest issue was drugs - kids with too much spending money.
I'll say this as well - it may not be the ghetto, but no matter where you live, you can find trouble if you look hard enough.
DFW has 7 million people - the hood ain't that far.

Yeah but also a lot of White boyz like this modern hip hop bullshite too. It's a way to rebel from the cookie cutter lifestyle they used to and express their masculinity (albeit the wrong way) but most are still not trying to live the lifestyle of the demonic rap artist they love. Most Black boys are. There's the difference. Maybe that number is growing among White boys which is a problem but it's still not the majority in my observation

In 2020, my car was stolen from public tennis courts in Dallas while my team was competing in USTA playoffs. As team captain, I was last to leave the facility after playing 2 matches that day bc I stayed to talk to the USTA coordinator about championships the next day since we won our flight in playoffs. The coordinator and I parked in different lots so when I walked out to where I parked my car I was alone. After dark. And my car was gone. After talking to 911 and learning it may be hours before a cop responded (as opposed to under 10 minutes like I’m used to in Frisco) I called a teammate to turn around and come pick me up.
I was alone in the dark parking lot in a very unsafe area for 40 minutes and the friend who came back to get me is the whitest friend I’ve ever had. White, Jewish, affluent, born & raised Frisco and absolutely terrified as she drove me in her luxury suv through neighborhood streets through the hood to the closest police station. I actually laughed at how scared she was only bc it was such a stereotype. Growing up in Nola, I was definitely uncomfortable but no where near as freaked out as she was. We still laughed about her panicked drive through the hood ignoring all stop signs and white knuckling it the whole way.
Several months later the same year, we were competing at Kiest when gunshots went off in the woods right next to the courts. I was the only person who knew what the sound was and hit the pavement immediately. I had to scream at all the women standing around to get down bc they had no idea what was going on

When you said "not far" , thought you actually meant not far... not the opposite side of the Metroplex...

Back in my day Frisco was a very small town, and so were the cities surrounding it.
ETA: to the north

If I’m being honest, there’s definitely neighborhoods I wouldn’t drive through in Little Elm. OTOH, I have a friend who lives in a beautiful, lakefront home on a large lot in Little Elm.

Happened in my backyard. Our community is rocked right now.

I’m dealing with an 18 year old young man who liked Austin and is trying to figure out how to manage his combined sadness and anger. I don’t have room for anger yet.

Damn they knew each other? I'm very sorry to hear that. Now I'm sad.
