This has been going on for years. When the real estate/banking crash occurred years ago, it wasn't long before we had a rash of these in our county.

damn- if these criminals put as much effort into bettering themselves and being productive citizens as they do into their half baked schemes, we would be a nation of renaissance men!

No kidding. I used to work at a fairly large company that had made the mistake of hiring some woman who was basically a con artist and then tried to fire her. Turned out she knew employment law better than the company's own lawyers and 15 or so years later she was still getting her salary due to some technicality.

Thing is, the salary wasn't really that much and she clearly knew the law well enough she could have hired herself out as a consultant and made bank. But she wasn't that enterprising and just wanted the free money.

I'm kind of impressed, actually.

Drill a lock or two, cash some checks.

Make like smoke.

If you're caught changing the locks, shuffle a bunch of papers, acted pissed off b/c you've got the wrong house, etc...
