there is a lot of this in the older generations
it's the same with how they think of being a lawyer is some elevated position
we are nothing more than a service industry with some fiduciary duties. we are not this special badge of honor and social status

The younger attorneys around here are the ones who annoy me the most. When we're out at a function or party, all they want to talk about is work and how they are "always saving their boss's arse" and try way too hard to make themselves appear uber-important.
