There would be N opposition to do just that.
The problem is that certain segments of our society look at civil rights and social matters transactionally. They believe if you do right by one group or grant Another group rights, then their group is therefore losing rights.
This has literally be going on since the 2nd amendment. Always this kinda weird fetish with what could happen if blacks are appeased. It's almost as if they know they are wrong but are so scared of a racist potential altenate reality that they rather go all in in doing wrong.

We need a Mitch statue so the good people of NO have a way of disposing of rotten produce.
I'm fine with a statue.
Hopefully it will help the city never forget.

What can black Americans not do because of the current laws?

Because it is my opinion that the three magnificent statues on your removal list should remain in place
Can someone help me out - what are the remaining 3 to be removed?

Great read, excellent article.
I think someone has something on Mitch, though.
I have never seen a politician as hellbent as he is with destroying history.

Mitch gets an idea to pander to the sjw/pajamaboy crowd and the black folks.......
Some are just too stupid to see or realize this. Some only act and react when and how they're told.

Just for a little added excitement, I heard that HB 71 passed committee today. I doubt it gets approved and signed in time, if it even gets through the House, but here's the good stuff

It sounds like a shitty bill.
Nothing like letting a monument stand in the way of progress.
Say we find out the person diddled little kids or bankrupted old ladies. I don't want my kid attending a school with their name on it.

Someone down voted my post. I'm not sure if that means they are pro-diddling kids or just mad someone is for changing monuments

Neither. Just an emotional & short-term viewpoint on that bill. Sounds great until it's used against you.

It's a new century, new era and new order now. The old world is crumbling just like old Frank. It's long past time that we whitewash the worst of our past from our midst.

Lee isn't part of New Orleans history any more than Bolivar is.

It seems Bolivar is mostly only "famous" now-a-days for having a bunch of statutes pretty much everywhere.
LINK
They seem to be geographically confused about the location of his N.O. statute, though.
