He can probably plead that one down.

I've been avoiding a move to prevent having to change my address on my DL.

Yeah. We'll have to see how this plays out. They've got him charged with everything they could think of. That usually means that they're trying to cover their arse

Well, the whole letting him escape from a holding cell doesn't look so good for the utopia crew.

It has zero to do with covering themselves.

The more charges = the higher the bond.

The more charges = the more the prosecutor or ADA has to use for making plea deals.

The officers get absolutely nothing for using 1 or 15 charges

unlawful use of body armor

At what point was this charge brought?? On the original charge, was he just cruising around drunk and in full armor or did he throw this after he 'scaped and went on the motorcycle??

That's a pretty boss charge.

possession of an incendiary device

And this one too.

Reading the article, I think this guy beats it all if he gets a decent attorney. That initial stop and arrest for "being deemed a threat to himself and others" sounds sketchy as hell. If he gets that tossed then his attempts to escape are legal. You can resist an illegal detention. That being said, there is a ton that isn't covered in that article and I would bet the whole story is pretty interesting.

Going by his FB, he's an Infantry dog and has been in the shite. Hopefully they'll cut him some slack.

What the hell is that? There are laws about how you can use body armor?

I wonder if this will get his Army awards taken away.

What was the device? Based on the other charges, I'm guessing it was a cigarette lighter?

Compliance with what? You have to prove you are in compliance with something? Is this is no proof of insurance?

Sounds like he fricked up, but they sure seem to have brought some pretty stupid charges against him. He must have really pissed off the cops.
