I’m all for a woman president. But First Ladies (and future First Men) need to sit down and shut up. No one elected them. Seen not heard needs to be their motto.

It's just tiring to see the media fawn over her relentlessly because they're so enamored with her husband. She could've taken a dump in the Rose Garden during a presser and the media would've called it the most empowering and courageous act that a FLOTUS had ever done.

Think it’s more the idea that she seems to frequently be referred to as in shape, stylish, looking great on television. I think that’s where the backlash by people like the OP may come from.
People give a shite about stuff like that? That's maybe even more pathetic.

This. Meanwhile, they look for every possible reason to shite on Melania, her relationship with Trump, down to wearing the wrong shoes when Houston was flooding. The double standards are what makes people want to frick with the chosen ones.

I suppose. I clearly remember the last time I heard something about Michelle. I was working with an icu patient so the tv was loud as hell. Rachel ray was going on and on about what phenomenal shape Michelle was in and how “toned” her arms were. I remember thinking that to Rachel ray everyone’s arms must seem “toned”

I just want to clarify that she wore her high heels just for the walk from her home to the helicopter. She changed on the way to Houston.
I also do not expect our first lady to sling hash in the shelters or fire up the bateau.
I hope Michelle and her family all have a festive evening.
