You’re smart. Anyone who tries to go in the first year is pretty tarded. Other than the terrible crowds, stuff won’t really be up to speed and running well for a while. It’s like buying electronics upon release. Gotta give them time to work out the kinks.

Corporatism has taken over. Back in 2002 we purchased 10-day Park Hopper tickets to Disney that never expired for my wife, my daughter and myself. By the time my son was born in 2006, we still had used up only 7 days, and when he was 4 years old we went and only had to purchase his ticket, but by then, the 'never expires' option was no longer available, so we just purchased what we needed for him for the days we were there. But, we had paid only around $785 for three 10-day passes in 2002, but by 2010, that 3-day Park Hopper pass for one we had to add additional fee for that where it was automatic at no additional charge in 2002. Ended up paying about $375 for a 3 day ticket.

Similar experience with my daughter when she was 4 years old. First trip to Disney, we’re standing in front of the USA exhibit at Epcot, watching the night fireworks and laser show. I’m holding her up, her arms around my neck, and she squeals, “daddy this really is where dreams come true!!” I melted.

It's probably cool. But I don't like a lot of stupid people around me these days. I'll be a hermit in a decade

For those that are interested...single day tickets are now on sale for everyone without any prerequisites for other ticket sales

I remember taking my daughter on her first ride at Disney when she was 5.
