Only in nice days. My GX gets the most miles of any of the cars.

Can someone explain the brakes and replacing those on a Tesla? Different than a ICE car?
They’re the same but wear much less because the vast majority of the braking is done by the motors.

I wish I wanted one because I want to support Elon/X/SpaceX/fighting the woke mind virus. I just like real cars.

Elon explained the 80/20 thing on a podcast one day. Something like the last 20% takes much longer to charge than the first 80%. I assume that longer charging time beyond 80% is why it may degrade the life of the battery. I don’t have a Tesla.
The 80% rule is true for pretty much all Li-ion batteries. They suggest it for phones as well. One of the recent iOS updates included being able to limit charging to 80%. In a perfect world, you would stay within 40 and 80% state of charge.

The graph I posted on page one breaks down state of charge amounts by cycle count and shows the degradation profiles associated with each.
Max charging presents two issues. Elongated charge cycles and an increased thermal state in the cell. More heat for longer is not good. Both of those are bad for degradation and longevity.

Zero maintenance required. The only things I've had to do in 4+ years are change the tires and add washer fluid.
You might want to lubricate your brake calipers. You are about 4 years behind and they will bind up.

1 - There is essentially no service. Rotate tires every 7k-10k miles or so to limit treadware if you really want to be proactive. Change out your cabin air filter once a year. Change out your wiper blades. Thats legit the extent of it
2- I only plug in when it gets low however when I'm working from home I don't charge it up all the way. I usually top it out at 60% if I don't need it the next day. Then will plug it back in when I get below 20%
3- Unsure, haven't owned it long enough to encounter that problem
4- I've never used a public charging station before but I also have never once seen a public charging station 100% full. I live right by one that I see daily
5- No, I was pretty much Tesla or another ICE vehicle. Hybrids are really the best of both worlds and I would love one I don't know of any out there that I like the look of. Hopefully there is a bigger push with hybrids in the next 5-10 years

if i had enough money for an "around town" specific vehicle, Tesla would be my first option

my biggest question is how does the a/c hold up during the summer?

Maybe you should run your house off of it.

For an around town car I bet any EV would be fine. Just pick your comfort level/price point. Tesla imo is the only practical cross country EV because of the supercharger network.

i don't think this is accurate.
I don't hate anything electric. But, I hate big brother trying to push an all or nothing agenda. It's cool to offer both and let the buyer make their own decision.
