For those of you young, healthy adults making serious comparisons to the Spanish flu

Before and after 1918, most influenza pandemics developed in Asia and spread from there to the rest of the world, but not the Spanish flu.
When it returned in the fall of 1918 with a vengeance, it targeted the 20-40 year age group

In contrast, age-specific death rates in the 1918 pandemic exhibited a distinct pattern that has not been documented before or since. Influenza and pneumonia death rates for those 15–34 years of age in 1918–1919, for example, were >20 times higher than in previous years. Overall, nearly half of the influenza-related deaths in the 1918 pandemic were in young adults 20–40 years of age, a phenomenon unique to that pandemic year. The 1918 pandemic is also unique among influenza pandemics in that absolute risk of influenza death was higher in those <65 years of age than in those >65; persons <65 years of age accounted for >99% of all excess influenza-related deaths in 1918–1919.
Also, don't eat pork

Subsequent research indicates that descendants of the 1918 virus still persists enzootically in pigs.

Yep. Started in Kansas and solders training there brought over to Europe. Saw documentary last night on it.

Anybody equating this Coronavirus to the Spanish Influenza of 1918 is insane. The Spanish Influenza is magnitudes deadlier than the Coronavirus. We're taking about a flu that halted a world war. There is no comparison.

Nebraska, Kansas, same thing. Can't get crawfish there so screw em. Might get crayfish or Crawdads.

Oh, but the news media certainly is
The news also said Bloomberg spent more money on his campaign, than if he had given every American $1M each. So fake news. But sadly, news nonetheless

The 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic killed my great grandmother, shortly after my grandmother was born.

Having a healthy immune system was almost a disadvantage with the Spanish flu. The virus basically caused your immune system to release huge amounts of inflammatory cytokines and the better your immune system, the more cytokines were released. Too high of a release of cytokines causes what’s caused a cytokine storm and that’s what was deadly.
