I read once that some Israeli medical scientists found that the human body can respond to herpes simplex I with three scenarios (this was prior to DNA being sequenced... nowadays they could probably tell you which little pieces indicates the target person would get one or the other of the following).
1. a kind of leukemia/cancer
2. a kind of mononucleosis, attacking internal organs.
3. the typical herpes syndrome.
Now that fever blister does not seem all that bad, hmmm?
