KATC TV 3 did a thing a long time ago in an attempt to correct this, and I sure did correct my own pronunciation from ve-rot to ve-row, in honor of the late August Verot who either had the land or founded the school (that no longer exists).

On the Laf Memories FB Page, the lady who is August Verot's daughter or Grand duaghter said that it is indeed Ve-Row.

These are the funny things. It absolutely doesn't matter, but the road is named after something specific, that is pronounced a certain way. Then, understandably, people confuse the pronunciation. Yet you eventually have people making claims in absolute terms that the technically wrong way is the correct way and anyone else is trying too hard . Like I mentioned in my first post about it, generations of my family lived in the area and some still do,. They likely got their pronouniciaiton from being around when it was originally named, so even though I have heard it as Veh-rot, a lot since working with a Lafayette office for the past 6 years, I still felt the French pronunciation was likely right.
