Thomas controls NOEast and Lower 9. That alone makes him #1 or #2. He's been around since the early 1990s. He used to represent the district that encompasses Central City. He's a convicted felon. I believe he did a stretch in the FedPen before re emerging and running out is the East. If he wins, you might as well just board up the city and leave.
He's that crooked and that bad. Say what you want about Helena Moreno, incompetent has never been a word I would associate with her.....or crooked. Her husband does quite well for himself....and she did as well beyond TV as a RE agent selling houses uptown

Helena is young enough to care about a job after her stint as mayor. She’s a democrat. She can latch onto a job with a national political figure or even run for a national seat herself.

She’s a young (47), female, white DEMOCRAT. She needs to earn her liberal stripes so the national level politico’s accept her for future opportunities.
She’ll be too young to retire at the end of 8 years being mayor of nola so she needs to feather the nest for her next gig. It’ll either be an elected spot on national level or working for someone on that level.
Mitch did it and it got him a nice spot on the national stage with the Biden campaign.
