Yup. Until they conduct safety studies on this, it would be wise to not do this.

Talk to your doctor. if he recommends it then get it. if he says you dont need i, then dont get it.

I get one every year, but since i had cancer and blood counts have been low since, my Oncologists said i should get one every year...

Last year's flu season was odd here. We saw several people with the flu up to June.

Even if you still get the flu with the flu shot, the severity of the flu is likely gonna be less than if you had not gotten the flu shot at all.

We have to get it at my hospital. If you don't...you are required to wear a mask at all times when on the hospital campus from October until the end of flu season(which we extended till April last year)

Yes. Just ask them to provide the safety studies on it and see their response. They are just regurgitating what they are being told. They are not vaccine experts. That isn't their job nor are they trained for it.

Anyone that is gonna be around the baby a lot should be current on their TDAP(parents, grandparents, etc).

We had to do this before staying with friends who had a newborn. I didn't know this was a thing until that.

Another myth is people saying they feel sick a couple days after they get the shot and blame it on the shot. They were going to be sick whether they got the shot or not as it takes around two weeks for the vaccination to actually take effect.

You can tell who still repeats the same old stuff. DTAP won't prevent anyone from being a carrier. It can protect the person who gets vaccinated but it cannot prevent that person from being a carrier. It cannot protect children.

And I guess ignore the CDC(whose guidelines are what many places go by)....who still recommends pregnant women get the flu shot.

I work in infection control now....our department will be heavily involved with our annual flu campaign at work. I'm also still trying to get pregnant.

I'm getting a flu shot as soon as they are available to employees....even if I am pregnant at that time.

CDC knows a thing or two about vaccines and they recommend the flu shot for pregnant women.

Your posted articles are speculation, not science.

Is TDAP something altogether new? Or is it just something better that is a modern replacement of something older? I don't recall the term/acronym.

I didn't listen to my own warning, so I'll post it again.

Placebo effect I'm fairly certain. Its insane. I hear at least 2-3 people in my office each year say they feel really sick the day after the flu shot.
