While that's kind of a dumb thing to write and rap about, the government arresting people for words in an artistic expression, regardless of the merit of the 'art', sets a really bad precedent. This is the modern-day equivalent of a government-sponsored book burning.

And I seriously doubt it would ever pass constitutional muster at the federal level. Lots of states, as well as the federal government, have all kinds of dumb laws on the books that just haven't been challenged yet.

I get that this is a snide remark but I don't doubt this played a part in going through with the arrest in this case. I mean, Johnny Cash rapped about taking a shot of cocaine and shooting his woman down and Christopher Cross talked about murdering people and fleeing to Mexico.
