I have an IL concealed carry permit and will be traveling to FL. Florida is the only state on my trip that doesn’t offer reciprocity to IL license holders. Would it be unlawful for me to keep my pistol loaded in my truck in Florida without purchasing their $50 CCW license? In IL one cannot have a loaded weapon in their car without a CCW

It cannot be "easily accessible" and must be in a "secure container."

Will get real answers on outdoor board

But really, you should just look it up and not trust some random people on the OT

That $50 will be well spent when a naked Florida Man jumps on the hood of your vehicle.

Florida Statue 790.251

It's 790.25...
quote:

(5) POSSESSION IN PRIVATE CONVEYANCE.—Notwithstanding subsection (2), it is lawful and is not a violation of s. 790.01 for a person 18 years of age or older to possess a concealed firearm or other weapon for self-defense or other lawful purpose within the interior of a private conveyance, without a license, if the firearm or other weapon is securely encased or is otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. Nothing herein contained prohibits the carrying of a legal firearm other than a handgun anywhere in a private conveyance when such firearm is being carried for a lawful use. Nothing herein contained shall be construed to authorize the carrying of a concealed firearm or other weapon on the person. This subsection shall be liberally construed in favor of the lawful use, ownership, and possession of firearms and other weapons, including lawful self-defense as provided in s. 776.012.

Here is a very good source to look up the laws in each state. You can also check which states have reciprocity with your state.

It can literally be sitting on your passenger seat, in a snap shut holster. Securely encased is a pretty loose standard. Glove boxes and center consoles normally have a latch of some nature qualifying them as places it is securely encased. I carry my in my door, it has a flip up storage area in the arm rest.
