They forgot to show the missile.

Because there was no missile, just another design screwup, and "whoopsies" from the manufacturers.

You're telling me if it was a "design screw up", this screw up only occurred the one time in all of the billions, if not trillions, of miles flown?

That's kinda how major screw ups work.
Fixed after the first time, especially when lots of people die.
Not sure what else to say here.

My former brother-in-law was picking bodies out of the water a few minutes after it went down. He always kept his boat to shore radio on for fishing ideas and communication with his fishing buddies out on the water. That's how he heard about it and his boat was very close to the place 800 went down.
His fishing buddies said it was shot down. So did a few hundred people on the beaches on that fine Long Island beach day.
An old friend who was a video editor got a call from his drunk cousin who was the captain of a major capital ship one night. He was crying and said we had shot it down. Evidently it was a test of a submarine launched air defense that went wrong in the live fire zone of the ocean that was nearby and that was probably perfectly safe for 1920 firing tests. That's the reason for the cover-up. Top secret and all.
A target drone crashed in a Long Island township where the Mayor and staff were just exiting a meeting. They saw it and pictures made the local news.

Lol no
The 747 had been flying for 30 years
It would have happened before that
Much like the 737 Max and dreamliner which has issues first 1-2 years of rollout

Electrical short makes it jettison the front. That’s a hell of a design glitch.

I downloaded the complete Cal Tech jet fuel test. I think the modem at the time was 56k and it took forever. I always had a curiosity about aircraft accidents because my father was one of the countries top aircraft accident investigators.
Cal Tech couldn't get the fuel to ignite with a spark at the specified temperature range. They had to resort to a torch.

It was definitely shot down accidently. I know people that was around the area at the time and they said it was clearly shot down.

Is this a thing? Seems that would give away the submarine's position.

Electrical short makes an explosion with highly volatile jet fuel and air mixture.
Why is this so hard to believe?
Let me guess, the WTC towers were orchestrated implosions also?
Don't believe everything you see on youtube...

I have heard this story before. Are you the actual friend or are you repeating the story (honest question)?

There weren't any details. Just words from a friend and co-worker who was a straight shooter. Some new secret system screwed up and evidently locked onto Flight 800 and not the target drone.

My friend (RIP) heard this directly from his high ranking cousin.

The animation is a bit screwy because how can the alleged center fuel tank blow the nose off.

Tough knowing people were on plane with the whole front gone knowing of their impending death

Lots of witnesses on the beach on in boats on the water saw explode. That animation is simply wrong.
