It was classic Louisiana: Coffee cup tossed to ground and coffee puddle at baggage claim. People kicking said cup and walking in puddle. No staff around to clean it. Wait 30 minutes for luggage to hit the carousel.

Go to step onto the shuttle bus outside and am accosted by a homeless person. I didn’t know they frequent the airport now too.

Next, I’m driving home down I-10 only to get my doors blown off by a Dodge Charger revving his engine like a boss.

And tonight as I lay down my weary head, I am serenaded by the screeching of tires and ambulance sirens.

I learn something new every day, I didn't realize these things only happened in Louisiana.

it's interesting no one is talking about where they are landing. There are a lot of shite airports out there.

There was less parking at the old terminal, 1/3 was lost after 9/11. At the end they wouldn't even let you in because it stayed full the entire time.

The security check points were dark and jammed pack; besides B concourse (I think) which just stood in the way of anyone going to another concourse.

The concourses themselves had less light than the cantina scene in starwars.

I relly do wish Southwest would move back to the old terminal and take their poors, wearing braided leather belts, with them.

money spent, it's done. Airport is terrific.
airport is terrific, yes. Logistics horrible. How do you not have infrastructure ready for something like an airport when you open.

North Louisiana politicians getting all mad that the actual taxpayers of the state want to use some of their money on south La infrastructure.

Anyone coming from BR has to like the new airport access better. Cuts down probably 10 minutes from the old airline route and maybe 15 minutes from the Williams/Vets clusterfrick

People really have some grand idea of what the old airport was. It was trash.

It is absolutely no different than you had going off Williams.

I get you think it is, but it isn't. Access from the west has always been a joke.

Middle of covid there was a thread saying how the new flyover was a waste and wasn't needed.

Need to find that thread.

Getting from the 310 exit to the loyola exit at the wrong time of day sucks, and then the exit itself sucks.

310 to airline to airport is smooth and easy. It might take longer with zero traffic, but it's consistently zero traffic and loyola is not.

The old way separated airport traffic from normal work traffic. The new way has it all mashed up into one big common clusterfrick.
