Florida's largest teachers union sues state over reopening schools

The largest teachers union in Florida sued Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday over his administration's push to fully reopen all public schools next month — even as the number of coronavirus cases in the state is spiking.

Without a teaching degree they're worthless, its no surprise they're trying to milk the system, I guess having summers off just isn't enough. What's funny is how they advocate for the education of children, but cease to do so when they take a pay cut. "We'll teach you're kids, as long as we're compensated."

Keep it up teacher unions... meanwhile upper middle class families are banding together and hiring tutors to form micro schools in basements.

Florida Gov missed a golden opportunity here, the smart play would have been to declare no school for the year and state he would invoke force majeure on teachers contracts.

That water buffalo in the OP would be driving around with a much different sign claiming the schools must be open and to think about the children.

Far too many government employees seem to believe they are immune from everything and are about to learn some very painful lessons.

They are absolutely worthless even with their little early childhood education degrees. I would argue it’s harder to get a degree in AA studies than it is Early Childhood edu.

They're even more fricking worthless when they keep children from getting an education, if they weren't unionized, everything would be better, and Id like for any teachers on here to tell me I'm wrong, y'all get the vacations, y'all get the time off, and y'all say you do it for the kids? frick you. When the paychecks get cut, y'all bail. To say these teachers are in it for the kids is a mother fricking joke.

You fricking teachers look like shite in this pandemic, maybe if some of y'all gave a frick we'd all be better off.

Government employee unions should be illegal, what greater collective bargaining is there than the entire system of representative government. It's not like they're working for some robber baron who owns the school system.

They would statistically stand a far greater chance of being killed in a car crash on the way to work, let that sink in.

Both McDonalds and Marlboro will kill far more Americans than corona in 2020, FedGov just has not figured out how to tax a virus yet.
