When I watch, it seems like they are constantly buying 4 BR, 3 BA houses at 2600 square feet that just need a little work for something like $87 in total.

More typically it's a house for ~$200K while the customer's budget is $275-$300K; sometimes more.

There's a formula - Joanna is going to recommend:

Opening the kitchen to the living area
Installing laminate floors, recessed lighting, crown molding
Painting the brick
Adding the new hot item - shiplap, to a wall
Adding little accessories/features that will "make it pop!" (new cliche used now across most renovation shows)

Chip will find some seemingly insurmountable issue that somehow gets easily resolved without adding major cost or losing time

Whatever the customer's budget, they always meet it or come under, even if doing complete kitchen remodels with islands, custom cabinets, and granite for (claimed) $25K.

I've seen the tiny house, it's not far from campus, it's nice but not $900,000 nice for sure.
is not a "tiny house". Its a shotgun shack they moved to that location and renovated.

It's the last historic house of that style in Waco so that's part of the appeal.

Plus Joanna and Chip tricked it out.

Well, I wasn't really being serious with the $87 estimate.

Really, she's going to knock down any wall that is not partitioning a bedroom, bathroom or, maybe, an office. "Open concept" like a motherfricker.

And, she's going to paint everything that bluish grey color. Everything.

(Mrs. Midnight is a fan, if you must ask.)

From what I can tell, that's because they have a pretty risk proof business model...

Also love the chain you have to pull on for 5 mins to get the ladder down.

Was actually a big fan of the show until 1, everyone else started liking it and 2, they started focusing more on that stupid Silo and Magnolia bullshite.

I don't give one frick about their stupid antique biz or country store mindset shite. Show me three houses for cheap, couple picks one and y'all bust arse to make it a great house.

That USE to be the show. Now it's all her other crap that I have zero interest in so I've checked out

I agree. The first two seasons were better.
