James Randi has a million bucks waiting for him if he's telepathic.

My prediction? He won't be getting a million bucks from James Randi.

I seem to remember that Randi became well known after exposing Yuri Geller, who also convinced reputable scientists into believing he actually had telekinesis abilities. One of the scientist involved refused to believe he was tricked saying "we are trained observers and would know if something was fake."

You say that with certainty. So if legitimately high regarded scientists research him and say he's 100 percent telepathic...you'll dispute that?

I will. The Randi Foundation has been offering a million dollars to anyone with proof of psychic abilities. No one has been able to claim it yet.

Sorry. Telepathy does not exist at this time.

He also had two proteges go through testing at Stanford. They practically begged them to catch them and gave them every opportunity, but the scientists were going to publish the paper anyway until Randi stopped them and told them what was up.

They still didn't believe him.

Think about it, you need some mechanism of transferring information between two brains without using any of the 6 senses

Electric signals at close range between brains. Our brains are basically machines. Giant wads of electric conducting material functioning like a highly efficient microchip, and your body is basically a giant organic antenna.

1. This kid is not a "savant"
2. This "Scientist" is either a fool or a scam artist
3. The mom is a liar
4. Telepathy doesn't exist

Not to mention, the so called "expert" miscalculated the odds of getting 3 out of 5 correct. She said it was 1/729 when that would be the probability of 3 out of 3.

The true probability is > 1%, and that's assuming no cues that he could have picked up on, wheth

Stick to simple math 1+1

Ok kindergarten teacher.

Not only that but people have tried, failed, sued Randi, and lost. Randi has also exposed frauds unrelated his challenge who then sued him, lost, and were later convicted of fraud in criminal proceedings after what was revealed in the civil cases.

There are hucksters everywhere and there always has been because there's a sucker born every minute.

There's no such thing as telepathy. If anyone could remote view, move objects with their mind, or communicate telepathically, there's a million dollars they could easily obtain for very little work from Randi. I don't think it makes sense to assume that magical abilities come with an allergy to money.

Are you disagreeing that the probability of correctly guessing 3 out of 5 (A-9) is slight greater than 1%? Because we can go step-by-step through the binomial theorem, if it would help you.

Does that mean all the voices he hears in his head come with a lisp?

No they don't. Neither the US military nor the Russian military makes use of persons with magical "remote viewing" abilities. You've listened to too much Coast to Coast.

This. People better hope this kid is a fraud, because if he isn't we're one step closer to technology being able to read our thoughts. The last thing we need is Google Glass version 10 letting others know what you're thinking.

No. Electric signals need conductors. Think plausible next time.

How would natural psychic ability influence mind reading technology? I believe we will have direct brain to brain communication technology sometime soon and it wont require anyone to be psychic.
