I'm by no means an expert but my impression is that a squat clean typically results in a full squat where as a power clean only requires a slight bend to get under it. PC usually done with lighter weight.

Slow off the floor then explode.......make sure to get the hip extension......big shrug.......keep the bar close to your body.

Do you let the bar out of your grip and catch in the front rack?

I think my problem is that I don't get under it. I pull the weight well past my nips. But when I try to get under it, I can't seem to snap my elbows forward. I "catch" the bar in my hands.

Don't catch in your hands......catch in the front rack.

Depending on your mobility........that may only be with a couple of fingers on the bar.

If you're going to perform a jerk after you can re-grip at the top of the clean.
