Will Cover Method

For getting raped on your first car?

Seriously, these guys are professional and do this all day every day. If you go in to their house to buy a car, you are going to lose.

98% of the process can be done from your computer and you control the interaction. Once you have an agreement, make them email you the paperwork so you can look it over. All you need to go in for is to sign the papers and pick up the car.

how so when i reject the first price and remain silent? usually, they ask, "what are you lookin' to spend?" am i just supposed to look at him with a blank face.

Uh, yes. You tell him politely, but firmly, “Your offer isn’t good enough.” If he doesn’t come back with a lower offer, you shake his hand and leave. He’ll call you within 24 hours.

Solid advice. You don't want to see the car or test drive it until after you have signed all the paperwork.

They prey on ignorance. Good move asking for help.

Establish financing with your bank. Do not let a dealership finance you. Period.

Do not discuss your trade in if you have one until all negotiating is done.

Know that any used vehicle on any lot can be sold for less than sticker...%age varies.

Be ready to walk. If they don't take your offer, leave. Leave your number with them if they want to change their mind.

Do not allow them to apply the false pressure. Do not fall for any back and forth to the sales manager games.

After you make a deal, introduce the trade if you have one, and know it's value beforehand.

Remember you will pay tax title license fees. Pay nothing else but sale price, tt&l and a small document fee. This is why you should negotiate in "out the door" terms. They will have to figure out sale price backwards from there. Then introduce the trade if you have one.

Do you have a trade?

In this scenario you haven’t given a price. He knows that he can go lower and that you want him to go lower but not how much. That’s why he will reach out.

Research that car online and find out what the dealer invoice is with the options you want. Email several dealers within a radius that you are comfortable traveling to to pick up the vehicle and let them know you have the money and will pay dealer invoice for that specific car and the first one to reply back with a yes will get the sale.

This is the best way to buy new. Dealers will sell you the car for the invoice price. Don't let them tie you up for hours. If buying used offer to buy it for the trade in amount or $500 over the trade in amount. But I've had dealers offer to sell any car on the lot for the trade in amount.

Go to your local credit union and get your credit line established prior to purchase. Half the time you will waste at the dealership is going back-and-forth with the moron trying to charge you 8% when your credit score is over 750. They eventually back down but make no mistake about it they are there to frick you in the arse.
