All the people saying gay, poop, homeless, etc have you ever even been there? Or are you just repeating what you saw on Fox news?
Go there on the regular. San Fran is a great city full of shitty people. Whether that be poors who shite on the streets, or tech nerds who are just smug pieces of shite.
Like I've said before...California is an amazing place full of the dregs of humanity.

"Expensive"
I love California road trips but never stay in San Francisco. Hotel costs are crazy. I'd rather be out in Monterey/Pacific Grove and make a day drip to the city (if that). This fall I do have a conference in the city and am looking forward to it since the company is paying.
The second thing that comes to mind is two friends that lived there for 25 years and ejected 4 years ago to move to Canada. They used to love the place. The increasing cost and decreasing quality of life (their words) drove them out.
